It is extremely difficult when you buy a computer for Revit which one is the best option available for your project. The required performance will largely vary depending upon the scale of the projects. So, let’s take a look at what you need to know.
CPU
Revit CPU Requirement
CPU is the most essential part when considering high performance. It is favoured to have a higher single-core clock speed than multi-core performance as Revit mainly uses a single core. It is highly recommended to choose 'high single speed core CPU'.

RAM
Revit RAM Requirement
The second important part is the size of RAM. According to Autodesk Website, the RAM can handle the file size of the total size of RAM/20. For instance, if you have 16GB RAM, it can handle the file up to 800MB.
Required RAM Size Calculation
The requirement of RAM is based on the total size of the file including the link files. If the hosted file is 200MB, it requires 4GB RAM, which is 1MB per 20MB RAM. If the linked file is 200MB, it required 200MB, which is 1MB per 1MB RAM. There are some simple examples of the RAM requirements.

Most of the central files are not exceeded 800MB, so it will be enough to have 16GB RAM. However, if the file size is over 800MB, Revit will be slowed down and it will have an impact on productivity and efficiency.
By and large, it is recommended to have around 350MB to 450MB for the central file.
GPU
Revit GPU Requirement
Surprisingly, GPU is not taking a significant part of the performance requirement. Rendering in Revit only uses CPU. However, if you are working in 3d view or using shade or other graphic options, GPU will be needed to smooth the 3d browsing. Otherwise, the gaming GPU with 2GB will be enough for any simple work.

SSD
Revit SSD Requirement
Not only does SSD have a good impact on reading/writing files, but it also improves the overall experience in Windows. However, it is not significant for the main performance, so if you have a bit of spare cash to spend, SSD is always a good choice.

It is always very hard to know which computer/hardware is good for us as there is not much information on the performance test available for Revit on the internet. Therefore, it is clear that we have to identify the scale of the projects that we are working on and should spend the appropriate amount of money on your machine.
